Let me first define what success is for different people. It depends on the hunger each person has. Some people would dream of success as having a stable job, some people would think of it as being in the top 1% while some people think of success as doing something for the greater good that brings some change in the society. Each level is influenced by the surroundings the person was carved in and the ethics and morales they were taught during this phase.
The people who think they have a higher purpose often achieve success. They don't think of money as the saviour but the enabler for further greater good and in turn, these are the people that eventually have the highest amount of hunger for success. They face immense failures in their journey but they always learn something from it and never do that mistake again.
I am in the process of learning and understanding the world around me. I am not any preacher that can help you save your life. I can just stand by the things that I have seen and these are the main qualities that often separate the two:
Risk taking ability : If you cannot take calculated risk and jump into the unknown and figure it out on the way, you are not cut out for the wealth route.
Hopelessly motivated : If you think that you can do anything in your craft, you just need time to learn it and you would implement it. You have this quality. Breaking the middle class barrier needs perseverance, which is oftenly achieved from constant source of motivation. The long lasting motivation always pans down to some greater cause like doing something for someone, material motivation often fades out.
Constant Learning : You don't learn because you have to, you learn because you want to. Just a difference in the way it is presented but this single sentence defines trajectory of a lot of people's lives. These people would rather die trying than settle. This is the major quality that is needed to tread on this path.
Luck comes to those prepared : We have heard this countless times but only a few understand it. If you encounter a setback in your life, fall back, recoup, analyse and get back to the field. Luck won't favour you if you aren't prepared for it.
We have always been the risk taker, but with time, people have become tamed. There are so many oppurtunities but stability matters more than doing something for the greater cause. We find faults in all our failures and we have a reasoning to justify every one of them. This is not the way to live life. Dreaming big is sadly a luxury which is holding our own growth.
